The Information Difference Positions DataMentors as a Major Vendor in the Data Quality Market

TAMPA, Fla., April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- DataMentors, LLC, a data quality, data management and business intelligence solutions provider, announced that it has been positioned as a major vendor in the Data Quality market by leading analyst firm The Information Difference. The report, titled The Data Quality Landscape – Q1 2015, assesses vendors on market strength, technology, and its customer base.

Authored by Andy Hayler, vendors were first evaluated on market strength, which is made up of a weighted set of five factors: revenues, growth, financial strength, geographic scope and partner network. Technology was also evaluated on a set of four factors: the coverage of the vendors in 17 data quality functionality areas, the longevity of the software in the market, analyst perception of the product via briefings, and customer feedback from reference customers. DataMentors was cited as having one of the most satisfied customer bases.

"This report truly validated DataMentors as a leader in the data quality market. We were most recently recognized in both the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools and the Critical Capabilities Data Quality Tools Report," said Anders Ekman, President of DataMentors. "We are proud to also be recognized by such a reputable organization as The Information Difference."

According to the report, "The data quality market for the calendar year (2014) was worth a fraction over $1 billion, of which software sales and maintenance accounted for around $850 million." The report also cites client experiences involving heavy costs around data quality issues, such as in the example of an incorrect unit of measure causing a $25 million problem.

"While there has been tremendous growth in the data quality market, many companies are still grappling with data quality and how to manage their data to form insights," said Bob Orf, Chief Executive Officer of DataMentors.  "There is a growing need for data to be democratized across departments. However, this data must first be cleansed and integrated into a single repository to deliver value."
